A few weeks ago the Dobot-sponsored Le Mans Team made waves by not only participating but ascending to the coveted podium in one of the most competitive motorsport events on the planet, held at the awe-inspiring Mount Fuji circuit. This 450-kilometre endurance battle proved to be an epic showdown, and the team, consisting of three exceptional drivers – Yoshiaki Katayama, Roberto Merhi Muntan, and Seiya Jin – piloting an Audi R8 LMS, rose to the challenge in spectacular fashion.
Meet the LeMans Team:
ROBERTO MERHI MUNTAN: The Spanish pilot posted on Twitter his sensations after the race.
'' Podium at Super GT Fuji RD.4. A race with tricky conditions, both wet and dry, but I was able to climb from P16 to P3. Had to make strategic stops, but in the end I am happy with the results and will continue to push forward''
Leader of the race posted via Instagram:
Finally got on the podium 🥉
I was in charge of the start. In a race where the weather was rough, the conditions were difficult. It was a dramatic race where I finished 3rd place.
I was really impressed with Roberto's running! ️
22 year old pilot posted on his Instagram:
We got our first podium of the season!
Thanks to everyone in the team who did not give up in the long race and did a good car, good pit work and good driving!
I myself had a lot of things to reflect on in the race, so I will do my best to reflect and improve and show a good race in the next race!
Thank you for your continued support for Car 21.
The Audi R8 LMS:
The team's car is an Audi R8 LMS, a high-performance racing machine that demonstrated its capabilities in the demanding conditions of the Super GT300 race. With its aerodynamic design and powerful engine, the Audi R8 LMS certainly does stand out, and even more considering the strong presence of Dobot's marketing on it's appearance.
Dobot's Role on the event:
Dobot played a crucial role in this victory by supporting the Le Mans Team in various ways. Not only by being its main sponsor but also because during the event, the brand's cobots were seen in action:
Dobot's CR5 robot took centre stage as it waved the victory flag with precision and flair, adding a futuristic touch to the podium celebrations.
Meanwhile, the Dobot NOVA robot ensured that both participants and spectators were well-hydrated by efficiently serving drinks. Its seamless interactions demonstrated the versatility of robotics technology in various environments.
The presence of Dobot's robots at the event not only showcased their capabilities but also highlighted the potential of automation and robotics in enhancing the overall experience at motorsport events.
